Direction for Signing Up for Broadband Service after May 31, 2003:

Any original Trinity Heights customer who wishes to take advantage of the three-year high speed internet (broadband) service offered as part of his or her purchase contract - now available through Time Warner - must now utilize the following procedure:

   1.  It is up to the customer to sign up for Road Runner's standard service 2.0 Mbps x 384 Kbps ($39.95 per month) on his or her own at OIT's remote access page <http://www.oit.duke.edu/remote_access> if they want Trinity Heights broadband service at Duke's expense.  At the time a customer signs up for this service, the customer must also contact Debbie DeYulia at OIT <deb.deyulia@duke.edu>, work phone 668-7728, so that she can make sure the customer is entered correctly into Duke's billing system and Time Warner's records.

   2.  There is no charge to sign up or for Time Warner to install the Road Runner service.  Nor is there a charge to call the OIT Help Desk at 684-2200 for information or setup help.

   3.  If a customer needs onsite assistance in setting up or with a router to connect more than one computer, this will be at the customer's expense.

   4.  Trinity Heights Verizon DSL service (at Duke's expense) will be terminated sometime in June 2003.  Beginning in July, each month will count against the 36-months of free broadband service provided to Trinity Heights buyers, whether or not they subscribe to Road Runner or previously had DSL service through Verizon.  For example, if a new customer waits until January 2004 to sign up for Road Runner, that means that he or she will have 30 months of free service left.
